The lobster beignets and truffle oil tots are two of the most brilliant starters I've ever had. The wine list is fantastic. Service is what you expect from the best in Park City. Only change I would have made is the goat cheese and strawberry cheesecake was a little too goat cheesy for me but I took the waitress's recommendation. The steelhead was fantastic and the filet looked amazing across the table.

This place is pretty good. My main course, short rib, was excellent. Charred broccoli was not good. My husband is correct when he says it's my own fault because they are pretty straight forward about it. It is called "charred" broccoli after all! i just assumed it would be a palatable dish but broccoli that is black is not only unpalatable it's carcinogenic!!! Also, we were annoyed when they seated us, then asked us to get up and move so they could accommodate someone else. They moved us from the warm toasty front room to a desolate cold part of the restaurant where I had to keep moving around so the wine guy wouldn't bump into me as he fetched wine from the wine wall I was seated against. He was too close for comfort- they should not keep a table in that spot.

Excellent dinner, couldn't have been any better! You need to make reservations early, we booked as soon as we made our vacation plans. Cocktail menu is creative and we enjoyed our cocktails before jumping to order food. The menu is small, but everything sounded fantastic. Everything we ordered was delicious, the server was good, and the atmosphere was great. Highly recommended!

When you think about Park City, what are the items that immediately come into your mind? Ski resorts and Sundance Festival? Besides them, Park City is also known for its great food and art scene. Therefore, my friend and I have decided to attend the Park City Arts Festival and try the restaurants there. Having heard of great reviews about Talisker on Main, we decided to visit this classy restaurant. Although the food at Talisker on Main is good, it is overpriced for its quality. While I am impressed that the Brussels Sprouts at Talisker is less oily than those at most restaurants, it is relatively flavorless. Yet, it turns out that the mushroom dish is even plainer than the Brussels Sprouts. The mushrooms are of good quality, but they are over cooked. However, surprisingly, the corn side dish is the best. The crispy crust and the buttery corn have a good chemistry. Albeit that the food is only decent, I am glad that the waiter knows his menu well and is very friendly and helpful throughout the meal. He recommended my friend the chicken dish, which she greatly enjoys. Nonetheless, I am disturbed by the dead insect on the menu. Despite the fact that I am slightly disappointed by the overall quality of the food, I adore the corn dish and would love to return to Talisker on Main to try its other dishes, and explore the art galleries in Park City.

MooMy family came for dinner. Overall amazing food, though 4 stars on the desserts. The decor is really charming and well done. I highly recommend it. Starter: Brussel sprouts and cabbage salad with bacon - amazing! Don't miss this dish Main: Sea bass - also great Fried chicken - great (get the biscuit with it) Dessert: Chocolate pudding - don't get it. Tastes bad Bun - flavors are great but the bun itself had a stale texture.

I went with my family to Talisker over the holidays and it was a great experience. Shocked by the bad reviews. I thought the service was impeccable and energetic and our waitress was more than happy to give explanations and suggestions. I can't wait to go back.

Great place! Every corner in the restaurant has a charming surprise. Loved the decor and the food was delish! Must visit this little gem when you come to town!

While it was quite pricey, it was totally worth it! Small place with great service. Good timing on food and perfect amount of attention. The kitchen is open do you can see everything being cooked - they use freshest ingredients. Sprouts and beacon in the starter were phenomenal - texture is just right and perfect portion to start for two. I had lamb for main and it was super delicious. I rarely eat lamb because most places don't cook it well and it has too distinct taste and smell. Not here - cooked perfectly and had just the right hint of lamb taste. My fried had duck and it was also cooked to perfection. Work of a true artist. Roasted mushrooms and cauliflower for the sides were great too - cooked rust right to retain perfect texture. Loved the desert too! Oh and their zucchini bread is really awesome - we had to ask for more! Will totally be back for a good occasion - it's upscale priced (mains around $40) but again totally worth it!

The food was spectacular. The dining space is really interesting. Out waiter turned out to be awful. We were pre-judged and the waiter obviously thought his time would be better spent catering only to his (one) other table of 3 men instead of giving us (2 women) some of his precious time. When he finally deigned to interrupt his hanging out with the other table he told them "hang on, I have to get these girls". Well, both of these girls are big foodies and (usually...though not tonight...for obvious reasons) great tippers. Soooo disappointed in the service.

08/10/2012 Began with two starters - lobster and mussels. Delicious. Ordered the New York steak and Veal Tenderloin. Delicious. Instead of going into a detailed account of flavors and textures, I'm just going to say, Em's Restaurant has a new friend in town.

You order lobster baigner you get fried balls of undetermined food product . You order trufle risotto you get fried balls of plain pasta no trufles hint .

It was a challenging experience. Our 7:45 reservation was pushed to 8:30. Our drinks took at least 15 minutes to arrive at the table. Our drinks ran dry as we waited for our bottle of wine meant to accompany our appetizers. Appetizers arrived after 9:30 and the wine, which was all we had at this point as the complimentary bread was gone, was empty. The sommelier arrived upon request and highly recommended a lovely Pinot Noir at a price point we were seeking. Unfortunately, 10 minutes later he returned with the "bad" news that the wine of choice was sold out. His second, slightly higher priced wine would be lovely as well. Bad news. This was also sold out. The third wine at an even higher price was available. We said yes as we were now anxiously awaiting entrees (or so we thought...) and the service/communication was deplorable. Our server was friendly. The wine was great. The food was excellent. The communication from the sommelier/manager was nonexistent. The meal was served around 10:30. Bottom line, the food is great if you have the time to wait for it however our group lost their enthusiasm for the evening as it was a mess. The manager apologized and rectified the situation by taking 30% off the meal and sending us home with some desserts. The experience was very unsatisfactory. If you find you aren't being sat promptly, you may not be leaving in a timely manner either.

Alsatian inspired menu is marvelously prepared and properly fitting for the après ski dinner. Service from our waiter Leon, was top notch. Professional, yet unobtrusive. Knowledgeable about menu and ingredients. Highly recommend.

The three separate dining areas offer unique ambiance options and personal service. We dined upstairs in the library; a room with vaulted ceilings and only four tables. Leon made us feel at home while listening to preferences and ultimately guided us in a selection of dishes to create a memorable experience. Food was very good but the setting and service were first class. The hostess was lovely and conscientious. We will definitely return.

So so sad :(. We had made these reservations through our hotel a month ago. We had a 8:15 reservation and did not get our entrees until 10:30. Poor planning on the management's part . Our concierge did say that the chef had left and opened up his own restaurant called, Handles. Could that have been the problem? Ugh!! One of the worst experiences ever!!

Great location, awesome atmosphere, and seriously amazing food. My husband and I made a reservation here for our anniversary based on the recommendation of a friend. We were seated at a special back table in the most comfortable chairs. It provided for a private and romantic atmosphere. But above all, I was very impressed by the food. I loved the mushroom salad and the risotto. Both were full of flavor, without being overpowering. I also tried the brussels sprouts my husband ordered. So delicious. I also learned during this meal that if you're going to go blueberries... go warm! We had them both in a salad and with our pistachio ice cream dessert (sooo good)... and they were heavenly. Perfectly ripe, warm and soft, the perfect compliment to both dishes. On top of all that, the staff was very accommodating, and we were checked on often (without being over bearing) by both our server and the GM. You can definitely tell that they care about the experience their patrons are having. We took our time with our meal, and despite a very busy restaurant, we never felt rushed to give up our table. Five stars, without a doubt.

I went last night with a big group of peps. The conversation was great... The prefixed menu, they should reconsider. No one liked their food. I won't be coming back. The service.. Eh. They kept asking us several times if we where done eating our food. NO ... And there where no tables after us. (We had a reservation at 9pm) We where so annoyed ... One of the people at our table kept there food despite.. LOL.

Kind of ordinary. They have a great wine and drink list but the food wasn't as great as one would want at $35 a plate. I can name a dozen places that are more creative and a better value. I'd visit the Copper Onion, Forage, Communal or Valter's if I wanted a fine dining experience.

Food is truly 5-star worthy and is supported by same lux-level service. This is an experience not to be missed. Book early as they are known to be busy. Never found the bottom of a water glass, empty drink glasses and finished plates were removed promptly, yet servers and support staff were never intrusive. Also, quite knowledgeable staff in regards to foods, drinks, and even Talisker properties, brand, etc. Delightful squash puree muse, wonderful soup/salad, flavorful pork tenderloin w/subtle foie gras sauce, short rib was tender and flavorful, and a cozy wine room with large plush chairs for intimate dining was perfectly comfortable! Front of the house seating is more noisy and bustling with activity with full view of kitchen. Wine room and upstairs is much more subdued and feels like you are dining at someone's home. Can only imagine what property ownership must be like with a quality establishment such as this...great marketing, please expand this concept! Warning, eating here will spoil you when it comes to dining at other establishments...

Few restaurants have compelled me to write a positive review in recent memory as Talisker in Park City. From the moment I stepped in and was greeted by the hostess, through the presentation of the tasting menu, through the many wonderful courses, I had an outstanding experience. The restaurant itself is open and pleasant, I like the open kitchen, and the fact that it brings the activity of a restaurant while somehow not being loud or otherwise disruptive to conversation. When I sat down, I noticed that the menu had a tasting menu, with about 16 ingredients. I was informed that those are not 16 dishes, but rather the ingredients that will be used throughout the evening's tasting menu, but the actual presentation of it is a surprise, and at the discretion of the chef. I thought was a pretty cool concept. For those who don't wonderful tasting menu, the menu itself had a number of delicious sounding appetizers and entrées. The food in the line were both outstanding. I give you lots of details on the food, but given it was a tasting menu that changes daily, it's probably not much point. Needless to say, it was beautifully presented, Inc. great ingredients such as pork belly and wagyu steak, and also incorporated some of the local produce. I was also impressed with both my waiter and the sommalier. The waiter had a very strong grasp of what was being served, was passionate about food, and being a part of the restaurant industry, and was all around friendly. Likewise, the small he was friendly, and she credibly and completely answered a number of questions I had about the wines that I had. If I'm ever in Park city again, I'm coming back here!

Loved Talisker on Main and if I was looking for fine dining and wine, this was always my first choice. Ate there often over a years time and always left more then satisfied with the menu and desserts. I have to say my favorite dish there was not an entree at all but their Brussels sprouts with pork belly. Divine! This is not to suggest their entrees not "worthy"....on the contrary.

The food here is good but I'm giving it two starts since it's way overpriced and the service is a strange combination of over attentiveness and under informed about the dishes. The $34 dollar fried chicken is a bit of joke on several levels, and didn't leave anyone at the table laughing. Ditto for the $5 biscuit that's actually worse than Popeye's and practically dipped in melted butter. The lamb was overcooked, but tasty. Brussel sprouts were good but the tater tots, like the chicken, were a quite a disappointment. Best things here were the desserts and the wine list, but prices here are also stratospheric. Nice atmosphere, and great location on Park City's pleasant main street.

This place got 28 for food on Zagat. Seriously? This was one of the most overpriced meals I've had in a while. I was with a large group and we spent about $100/person (not that much considering we had a bunch of wine), but still not worth the price...not by a long shot. The food was bland. The service was slow (about 45 min b/w apps and entree for no good reason). And the decor, while nice, was pretty pretentious (I suspect they want to feel like a classy restaurant, but they are not). One note: when the waiter tells you that the skate is grilled and that this is they obvious and typical way to serve it, you should order something else. For the record, skate is to be pan fried. When it's grilled it dries out...as it did the other night. The only saving grace was the wine list which was quite good. But I bet you could find some great way AND great food elsewhere in Park City. Give this place a pass.

Fantastic and elegant food in a casual, lovely atmosphere. The Lobster and crab beignets were amazing. We had some of the Tapas they offer on Tuesdays in the summer. All were fantastic including the grilled romaine, the scallop dish, and the ham and pea dish. All were lovely. The service was very good as well.

The high point of our trip to Park City. Food was excellent. We had the fried chicken and pork rib. Also the brussel sprouts and kale salad. Everything was delicious. Wine list is huge. Service was on point. Easily one of the top restaurants in Park City.

First of all, the ambience is great. The restaurant has a lot of old period photos. The building is old and rustic. Started off with an amuse bouche of butternut mousse with an onion crackling on top. The mousse was very tasty and a little sweet. Move to starters of the kale salad with duck confit and the crab/lobster beignets. The duck confit was actually extremely tasty. It probably was the best part of the salad and the confit was served on top of a toasted crunchy slice of bread. The salad dressing was also very tasty and the toasted pine nuts added a nice crunchy texture to the salad. The beignets were also tasty but I think the salad was better. Moved on to the main course of lamb loin served with a lot of root vegetables. The lamb was cooked perfectly and had a very strong lamb taste which I prefer. There was a sauce served with the lamb but can't remember the type. It complemented the lamb well. Too full for dessert but they sounded fabulous! This is the second week we have skied at Park City this season and this is the best restaurant so far and we have eaten at several of the better places

There is a difference between "Eating" and "Dining", and THIS was a true Christmas Day dining experience. One of the best meals I've had in recent memory! The menu is changed seasonally and many ingredients are locally sourced. We started with the beef consume', herbs (salad) and scallops. The scallops were fresh, full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Entrees included, Lamb, Beef Short Ribs and Duck Breast cooked "sous vide" and finished on the grill. Duck was served with the most amazing brussel sprouts I've EVER tasted! Our waiter took time to share the brussel sprout recipe with us and gave us a copy of the menu which was signed by the chef. This fine dining in a laid back atmosphere should be a FIRST CHOICE for ANYONE looking to eat out in the Park City Area.

We dined here on the last night of Sundance. It was Saturday night and we did not have a reservation. The hostess was very friendly and accommodating, and arranged a seating within 30 mins.... With a VERY crowded house! There was was a Pre Fixe menu due to the sheer volume of festival crowds, but plenty of selection within each of the 3 courses. I had the diver scallop, milk braised rabbit and the cod with mussels, as well as a root veggie soup amuse. Everything was perfectly prepared and delicious! The staff were very friendly, considering most of the town was tired and cranky due to 2 weeks of Sundance coming to and end. The service and attention to detail, including coat check and beautiful decor. The music was a bit loud and hard to hear each other talk..that is my only negative feedback. I'd highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates quality fine dining.

So disappointed! I have lived here 4 years and wanted to go so badly so we went for my 40th Birthday. We had the Lobster apt. it was fine, my husband called them hush puppies. I was leaning towards the brussel sprouts and the waitress steered us towards the lobster, of course, it was the most expensive apt. My main course was the pork dish. It was good, nothing to write home about. The atmosphere was stiff. We sat at a 2 top next to another couple. our table was probably 3 feet by 2 feet and had a foot to the next table. Not cozy at all. Waitress had very little personality. This past weekend, we went across the street to dine at Silver. It was 1/3 the price and the food was amazing, atmosphere comfy and spaced apart from the next table. Would never pay $200+ for such a mediocre meal again.

We were with a group of friends enjoying a ski and boarding weekend. We had dinner here our last night in town. The food blew us away! Each dish was perfectly cooked and had so many creative components. I really enjoyed the whiskey cocktail but can't remember the name of it. For my entree, I had the fish special, arctic char, which was excellent. Although the staff was friendly, the service was slow sometimes and we couldn't find our server when we needed him.

Food was great, atmosphere was great, but they charged us for tap water and to too it off they charged us a $30 cork fee. By far the most expensive cork fee I've seen in the state of Utah. Totally wasn't worth it to bring your own wine.

The food presentation was good, atmosphere is great. We had a large party and none of us loved our meals. I wonder if French cuisine just isn't our thing? If you like trying new and unique foods, this is a good choice.

We visit Park City multiple times a year and this was our second try at Talisker. Our first attempt was terrible. Bad service combined with just ok, but very expensive food. The restaurant gets such good reviews that we decided to try it again, but again it was a disaster. We had to ask to be reseated as they sat us in the back of the restaurant, essentially empty, when there were plenty of empty tables in the main dining room. Once moved we sat at our table for close to 20 minutes waiting for someone to come and open a bottle of wine we brought (while many servers were passing our table and no one bothered to acknowledge us). Once the bottle was opened it was another 15 minutes to have someone come back again to tell us about the menu. Once we ordered our first course took at least 20 minutes to arrive. 4 people at our table ordered the soup. We all tried it and sent it back because it wasn't hot. 10 minutes later it came back (it was very good). After 2 hours our entrees finally arrived but only arrived after we threatened to leave. I had the pork chop which was ok but slightly over cooked. Another person had the trout, which was good but didn't arrive with the ingredients listed on the menu. All in all it was just a bad experience (again). We really wanted to like it but I cannot imagine a scenario where we'd go back.

I might fly from Chicago for this. Really. Yummy cocktail - Red Cloud Tumbler and delicious amuse bouche of white sausage terrine, on a rye crisp with aged balsamic. Crab hush puppies matched with Zind-Humbrecht Gewurtztraminer, 2007. Dueling entrees. My husband & I don't often tie, but the spice fried chicken with black beans and honey-soaked biscuit, brussel sprouts (with bacon, hazelnuts & pomegranates - amazing)! Tied with filet, chorizo spaetzle, and High West bourbon-soaked apples. Delicious Domaine Serene Pinot Noir 2006. And roll me down Main, after the dessert... Some amazing combo of pumpkin toffee and white chocolate mint ice cream and bacon brittle... With a sip of Madeira. Interiors and music, awesome Dani and charming and humble chef B just rounded the whole evening out.

Was really impressed with that place last year when we went for a ski trip in Park City. The place was packed. The food was great for everyone at the table except me. I had ordered the fish and it was so "bla" that I didn't eat it and finished everybody's dishes. I returned last summer for a hiking/biking trip at the Canyons. We sat outside, and the food was still not impressive. I so wanted to love this place since it has such a good feel and the setting is so great. But I have to admit that I will not go out of my way to go again. Park city doesnt have much of a restaurant list so it's work for there. 5 stars on the place, atmosphere, and decor. 3 stars on the food (sorry, I am picky)

what a disappointment. after reading all these rave reviews, i expected way better than that. the open kitchen is cool, the interior design is cool, the service was ok (i don't know why people in utah seem to have a problem giving me lemon with my water), but the food - come on, now. another reviewer called this restaurant a "culinary mecca". are you kidding me? what exactly makes the food here ground breaking? we had their "signature dish" of the brussel sprouts to start. they're nothing i'd go crazy about. if you like your brussel sprouts crispy, do NOT order these. i had the whole utah trout, the best part of which was that it was entirely deboned. my friend had the pork rib which was good. for dessert we split the rhubarb pannacotta with a piece of shortbread covered in rhubarb jam on the side. that wasn't bad, but again, nothing i'd go crazy about. going 1 out of 4 of the items we ordered does not a memorable meal make. i'd definitely skip this joint the next time i'm in park city.

Never again - a trilogy of customer service "don't's". 1)We arrived for an 8:30 reservation and our table wasn't available until 9:40. While we waited, we were invited to sit in the outdoor lounge and enjoy a drink. Our entire 10 person group was under the impression the drinks were complimentary for the inconvenience. It turned out we were charged for all of them. 2) Just before the third and final course of dinner, another friend joined us for a drink. Despite it being 10:30 and the restaurant not being full, the manager insisted he pay for a full price fix dinner to sit with us. It took an unnecessary amount of argument to waive that restriction (and he was still forced to order a dessert). Pointless on their part. 3) Service was very slow. Time between courses was excessive and even things like getting and paying the check took a long time. After being seated an hour late, a 3 course dinner took well over 2 hours and ran till midnight despite the restaurant being largely empty. A quick note on some positives: -food was quite good although in my opinion nothing so outstanding as to warrant the other reviews I read. -our two primary waiters were very friendly and helpful; we didn't feel any of the issues were their faults. Overall though, hugely unhappy with the service and the food is nowhere near outstanding enough to recommend anyone else going here and suffering the same.

Over all was above average. The signature drink "toms mistress" was weak, I asked for something stronger, and they brought out another shot. The food was incredible, detail awesome. Service slow, but for a park city fancy place was paced well. Overall 4 stars. Ambiance awesome, great place - reccomended.

The food was quite good. Dishes were innovative. Cool open kitchen. We even saw some celebs. Service was friendly. Our only complaint? If I make a reservation weeks in advance, don't stick me in the lawn furniture (not so) cleverly disguised as real furniture. Nice try though.

Best dinner we had in Park City. Though it's hard to get a table here, it's worth it. The food was delicious, the drinks delightful, and the service impeccable. So, why only 4 stars? Like other reviewers have mentioned, it was over priced, small portions, and I found much of what we ordered to be overly salty. Overall, though, I'd definitely come back, and probably order the fried chicken again. Also, do yourself a favor and get a Mountain Mule to drink after a long day of skiing.

Park City Main Street was in need of a dining atmosphere that matched the old town charm. Some of the restaurants at the bottom of main are a decent place to eat, but I can't think of a single place that has all that Park City has to offer. These historic buildings are the thing that makes Park City what it is. Food was fabulous. I have had the pleasure of trying many things on the menu - which changes often, so I won't bother telling you to order something that might not be there anymore. One reviewer complained of her fish dish, & I couldn't disagree more. The eclectic dishes are what I want! Don't bore me with the same old chicken & rice. You won't get that here. If you don't want to sit in a crowded restaurant, don't bother going to Talisker. Instead, let the people who love this place have your reservation spot. There are plenty of us out there.

Way to go Main Street. Look at your fancy self. You've come a long way. I know this because I finally checked out the very busy Talisker on Main. I remember the Park City dining scene from the 80's and 90's. It was SAD. I think the height of sophistication was a Claim Jumper. I'm glad the street is finally growing up and moving beyond things like burgers and bbq. Anyways, I'm still trying to find words that describe Talisker's decor. Was it English Country? American Country meets Mountain Lodge? If you figure it out, let me know. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Talisker. I ordered the short rib and it was, bar none, the best short rib I've ever had. A picture of the short rib should be placed next to the dictionary definition of "perfection." Moist, tender, perfectly seasoned. It was just the best. I really hated the dining setup though. My party of 6 was stuck at a really small and uncomfortable table. It's difficult to explain but the table's seating was a mixture of a bench and chair shoved in a corner. The diners on the bench, once seated, were basically stuck in their seats unless the entire table was moved back so they could exit. The large pillows on the bench seating added to the discomfort. It was really hard to eat with large cushions blocking the arm space. I'm also not sure why they seated six people at a table that seemed designed for four people max. We could barely fit our dishes on the table! Talisker seems to do brisk business. The small restaurant was packed and, frankly, it made me feel a little claustrophic. I think this is a 3.5 star experience due solely to the great food. I'm not sure I'd come back due to the price tag and overall ambiance. I would, however, try to bribe them to give me the short rib to go.

Absolutely loved my meal here. Each starter we tried was utterly unique and exceedingly tasty. Of the three we ordered - lobster hush puppies, roasted brussel sprouts, and roasted corn soup - I'd say the roasted brussel sprouts stood out as my favorite. That's certainly no knock on the other two, however, as they were still great. The deconstructed short rib shepherds pie was amazing. Juicy, tender, wonderful flavor, I could go on and on. And my wife's pan roasted lamb was great too. The lamb was served three ways: on the bone, as a meatball, and as a filet that seemed almost jerky-like, but moist. My wife wasn't a big fan of the last prep style due to the sauce, so I luckily and happily finished that portion for her. All in all, one of the best (if not the best) restaurants in Park City.

No. No. No. This is from back in February. Another couple, my husband and I went here while on vacation based on the Yelp reviews. Seriously....this was the most expensive AND most disappointing "dining" experience I've had the displeasure of partaking in. We did the tasting menu with wine pairings. The amuse showed promise. But our faith was misplaced. The quality quickly declined course by course. Several of the dishes had some sort of pan fried cured meat thrown on top of the dish that might have been prepared well. I wouldn't know. I was gnawing on jerky with every bite. Not sure what they were going for there. It took HOURS! Tons of time between dishes. Like excessively long. 45 minutes or so.....per course. The wine "pairings" were a loose interpretation of what a pairing is. They were brought out haphazardly and didn't add anything to the dish except that I could drown my sorrows over wasting my time on this ridiculous meal. Don't get me wrong. I love creativity in a menu. I enjoy spending time anticipating the next course like a kid at Christmas. I will pay a pretty penny when the meal is worth it and I will recommend it to others. I love a good tasting menu with well thought out wine pairings. This restaurant, unfortunately offered none of these things. I still talk about "the worst foodie meal we've had all year. Worst of all, it was by far the most expensive. It was in Park City. Epic failure." You can do better. Good luck.

Cancelled our reservation 2 hours before citing repairs needed. This is a place we called weeks ago for reservations. Things happen, but the person who called gave barely any help in suggesting other options for a party of 8- "just walk down Main Street and you will find something." Really, that's the best you can offer? This place is sold out pretty much 7 days a week, you can do better.

Worst meal I've had in a loonnnnggg time! Service was mediocre. When questioning about menu items our waiter seemed perturbed. 5 of us ordered the short ribs and 2 ordered the duck so we had several mouths to judge the food. All of us were amazed that such horrible food was prepared in such a highly touted establishment . The short ribs were tough, chewy and flavorless. I make short ribs myself and you'd have to work really hard to make them as pitiful as these. The duck was just as disappointing. The pricing was especially insulting after being served something so horrible...and yes, I did say HORRIBLE!

So absolutely delicious. We were underwhelmed by Park City's food scene until we ate here. Do the tasting menu. Very fun and each course was unique and delicious! We sat in the back room in the large comfy chairs - what a treat! Wait service was excellent and wine list has a very good variety of prices. This restaurant definitely deserves being named the best restaurant in Park City!

Food was superb - everything we ordered on the menu was just perfect. Service had it's flaws, but still give it 4 stars. Open kitchen setup and very comfortable dining chairs. They sat the 4 of us at a very big and comfortable table near the entrance. Must trys are the micro-green salad, rib-eye, and short rib. All incredible and perfectly cooked and presented. What can I say, totally worth the money! Try the cocktails as well - well made and fresh ingredients. Try the blood orange cocktail (fresh squeezed blood orange) and the French 75 (my favorite)! Bon Appetit!

Food was delicious! 4 of us got 4 different entres, and we all ended up sharing so we could each have some. It was great!

We visited some great spots in Park City during our last visit. Talisker was one of them. But something was missing. I cannot put my finger on it. The service was wonderful. The location is fantastic. One thing that caught my eye was the self promotion of their property in the area. As I understand, the restaurant is a "front" for the residential property. We enter the restaurant and we notice one wall of photographs of "pretty people" all having the time of their lives. At first liked it, but then we were seated up stairs at a great table in front of the fire place. Above the fireplace was a 50" TV that had all the same images playing on a slide show. I was seated staring at it...it was over the top. I felt like i was in a time share sales office! After the 20 cycle of the same images, i was turned off completely. I had the butter milk fried chicken. It was notable accomplishing the fine line that is fried chicken, crispy outside, delicate juicy inside. the half chicken was masterfully de-boned. We ordered the cheese fondue. it was interesting, the mushroom selection was fantastic, but the cheese was not. There was a bit of bitterness, the cheese sauce had an astringic quality that was a bit of a put off to me. The smores dessert was fantasic (but is it worth $15???). Which leads me to my final note...Talisker is way over priced. I dont mind paying for food and experience, but this place was over the top on price (especially being exposed to the sale pitch images all night!!!) So my overall review of Talisker is good. The service exceptional. The location, setting, and atmosphere is wonderful and charming (sans the sales images) The food was pretty good, but there was something missing on the food side that would take it to "greatness". I just cannot put my finger on what was missing.

Fabulous service, fabulous food, best we experienced in Park City by FAR. Our server was outstanding (I'm so sorry that I forgot your name...) and made our night enjoyable as did the entire staff. We dined the day before Valentine's Day and it couldn't have been better. Watching the chefs from our seat was like a work of art. You could tell these dudes knew their stuff. I adored the decor and hope you'll appreciate it, too. Kind of like a French fancy diner? Great drink selections. If there was one gripe, it would be the music. I'd love to hear something a little more edgy, but relaxing. Overall, a very good choice.

5 stars in every way, from ambiance, decor, and service to food and wine. This restaurant would be a stand out in any city. If you're looking for a great meal and will not balk at an above average tab, this is a terrific place to go to. Coming back to eat here is yet another reason to miss Park City.

Delicious food, a pared-down menu of well-done choices & top-notch service make this a special place in Park City. Worth the money and since the menu changes all the time there is something new to choose from.

Talisker on Main is the culinary Mecca of Park City. It is amazing that such a small open kitchen can consistently deliver such good food. Fresh ingredients and a kitchen full of young innovative chefs with great passion helps make this happen. Having tried all of the "Top 5" Best of Park City Restaurants, Talisker on Main stands out as the best!

After eating almost everywhere in Park City throughout my ski adventures, I thought Talisker on Main would be a good place to try. I was charmed by the decor, which made it hard to leave. Or maybe that bottle of Chardonnay I had to myself made it difficult to leave... Anyway, the food is seasonal, creative and diverse. The special the other night was elk with a really mild sauce, root vegetables and fingerling potatoes. As soon as I heard the special, I knew I had to go with the big game or go home!!! My was it lean and succulent! The brussels sprouts appetizer was also fantastic. Also, I know, I know Chardonnay is not the best match for elk, but that was decided on long before I heard the big game special. The chairs in the restaurant are huge and comfy which made table service a little awkward, but the staff was all very attentive and the waitress uniforms are adorable! They wear little teal tartan plaid frilly shirts and skirts. Definitely a step up from the normal outfits you see even at other great restaurants. This place would be great in any city and for any palette. Growing up and coming from LA, I appreciate that it doesn't try too hard to be another LA or NY eatery and has its own good vibes. Make sure to have a reservation, especially when the Sundance crowd comes around. I've already bumped into more than one 'celebrity' here in the off-season!

Talisker on Main is on the top of my short list and it should be on yours too. It would be a crime to come to Park City on a vacation and not include Talisker on Main in your itinerary. I am a vegetarian and I cannot stop eating the brussels sprouts, they make a pretty icky veggie amazing. I had the veggie couscous the last time I was there, and it was good, but not great. The next time I am there i am going to order the striped bass, as I have in the past. My boyfriend loves the fried chicken and the shepherd's pie. We also both love the lobster fritters. The wine list is way over my head, but the sommelier is great and will definitely find you something amazing, that won't break the bank.

We were walking around main street and poked our head in to see what the place looked like and it was enough for us to give it a try. The decor is a beautiful open kitchen and a small cozy dining room. The place was only about 1/2 full and it was nearly 8 pm but they still made us wait 45 minutes ( Huh?). We waited and guess what, the same 1/2 of tables remained unseated, she offered no explanation at all when asked. This is what happens when you have a non owner or restaurateur at the door... Once sat the everything took a turn for the better. The chefs appear to handle and prepare the food with top culinary skill. Every dish we had was very good and served by the chef himself...Would have been a 5 star night had it not been for dealing with the annoying person at the door.

Talisker used to be one of our absolute favorites in Park City. But now I rate it as just average, especially for its price point. The scallop appetizer was wonderful. Our mains and dessert were average. Atmosphere is modern and enjoyable. Our server was attentive however we noticed other tables nearby were being ignored, unfortunately.

We chose this restaurant as it was highly rated and a difficult reservation. Very disappointing indeed. Portions are very small and very limited menu. My husband had the Veal which was full of fat and drenched in what looked like an Ink sauce. It tasted nasty and the combo absolutely did not work. I had an average small piece of Arctic Char with a few greens tossed around. The dish had not a drop of sauce and lacked flavor. They try to be organic and use a lot of nearly raw vegetables in every dish. The Charcuterie had a few thin pieces of fatty prosciutto and the rest marinated vegetables. Don't come here for a hearty meal or plan to be satisfied. I don't know what the big draw is to this tiny restaurant.

The cocktails, food and service were good but I was expecting more based on price. The menu was similar to the other top restaurants in Park City (Stein Erikson, J&G, Apex). Was hoping for some more creativity. But the biscuit was amazing. Weirdest part of the whole experience was the music. They played Muzak the whole time which was bizarre an didn't fit the restaurant at all.

Just before Thanksgiving, one of our Park City buddies invited us up to dinner with 3 other SLC couples to celebrate some good news. The choice was between Talisker and Spruce and Talisker had room for us at 8:30 for a late dinner. One couple had 15 years in New Orleans and 10 years in NYC, and they had not been impressed by SLC high end dining options. I looked online at the menu, and a friend had suggested options, but those were from 2 months before and many things were new after they reopened in November. We noticed some on-the Service was top-notch. A woman in our party wanted to keep her purse with her and tried placing it on the floor, but the staff noticed and brought a small stool. The menu works to be very local with meats from around utah and seasonal vegetables. I had the brussel sprout salad (small, but perfectly prepared with pomegranate) and the fried chicken breast. Bacon wrapped scallops were also a big hit. We ended the night around 11:30 with comments about coming back from everyone in the party. Parking behind the Post Office across the street was more convenient than downtown SLC.

One of the best dinners and service I've received in Park City. Talisker sets the bar!

Food and service is amazing! Except that reservations are questionable.... We were told that we can only have 5:45 and 8:45pm. And yet when we left at 730pm and most of the seats were still available. They need a better management system. Shame they can't accommodate their patrons as well as they can accommodate the quality of their food

We have been dining at the best in Park City for over a decade. Talisker has set a new bar. Their incredibly diverse, seasonal and inspired menu is not to be missed. Sous vide duck salad, an elegant twist on shepard's pie and succulent lamb lingers in memory as one of the best meal experiences on any continent. Robust, delicate and savory. The decor is an interesting blend of English aristocracy and French Country adapted to the great American West. Truly a classic in the making. Highly recommend.

The food was creative and delicious and the wine list (albeit pricey) is extensive by the bottle. Our server made our experience exceptional. If you can get past the snobby hostesses, you're likely to enjoy the meal!

A very charming restaurant. Cozy but modern decor. Excellent atmosphere. Food is just OK. Not bad, not good, but very expensive. Extensive wine list, but the sommelier was a bit snobby, which was annoying. Not sure if I ordered the wrong thing on the menu (buttermilk fried chicken), but I was not very impressed with the food. Perhaps worth revisiting. I'm just in love with the decor.

We were here last summer and enjoyed a delightful dinner on the patio. The restaurant is gorgeous, from the wine storage cabinetry, the lovely ladies' bathroom, to the warm bricks on the ceiling...all just perfectly done. We usually lower our expectations for service during the summer season in PC, however Talisker did not disappoint. Two in our group ordered the buttermilk chicken at the suggestion of our server. I had the trout and my husband the ribeye. Simply exceptional. We were so impressed that my husband made reservations for his business partners' meeting two weeks later for a group of 16. This last Christmas, we were unable to get reservations. Lesson learned. We will back, with reservations, for President's weekend and can't wait.

Without question an excellent meal will be had at Talisker on Main. My rack of lamb was cooked perfectly as ordered (rare). Two ribs were served along with a house made lamb sausage. My wife had the "surf, turf and wing" which was an elk fillet, diver scallop and a piece of duck all perfectly prepared. Service was top notch and not rushed. Extensive and expensive wine list but does have a few reasonable values. Serving sizes are not huge, after an app' each, main course and a shared dessert I was happy but not over stuffed.

Great location, awesome waiter (Jimmy?), perfect portions and great food! My fiancé and I are very picky, well traveled and know food. I had the special, striped bass, and he had the skate. The wine was a Ramey chardonnay. The dessert was a perfect ice cream/popcorn, caramel flan and chocolate torte small portion perfectly paired trio. We were satisfied, not full/bloated. Definitely would eat there again.

Great space and location on Main Street. The sweet corn soup was seriously something special. My steak was cooked perfectly, but what really made the dish stand out were the bbq potato sticks. They tasted like those Andy Capp Hot Fries. The warm chocolate tarte served with toasted mini marshmallows was a great way to end the evening. Chef Briar is so talented. I've been a fan since Fin (formerly at the Sky Lodge).

We really can't give a rating because we didn't actually eat there. We had a reservation but after waiting more than 1/2 hour we left. When we checked in we were told our table was nearly ready. Before leaving we asked to speak to the manager but he never appeared. Before we left we spoke to another couple who were leaving without eating. Although they too had a reservation they were kept waiting for more than 1/2 hour. Once seated they asked to order the tasting menu described on their website, but they were told it wasn't available so they left. We go to Park City every year, but we won't return to this restaurant.

The 4 1/2 star average rating for this place is probably a bit generous. While I'm sure this may be one of the better restaurants in park city, in most other cities and especially manhattan, this would just be a drastically overpriced restaurant serving passable food. I paid 40 dollars for a rib eye that wasn't even USDA prime, the ridiculously small piece of meat came out just slapped on a plate and tasted bland. Not to brag, but the costco rib eye I made with thyme and shallots a la the momofuku cookbook tasted about 1000 times better and cost about 8 bucks to prepare. The duck entree was overcooked, but I'd probably still take it over the overpriced bland rib eye. The deserts on the menu averaged 15 bucks a pop and despite the website showing a 45 dollar prix fixe, none exists at that price. The service during dinner was good, but the hostess did leave us standing in 20 degree weather outside despite the fact she saw us pulling on the door handle 2 min before the restaurant opened for dinner.

I have to be honest. I did the chef's tasting here one night and I was disappointed a little bit. It was good, but all of the dishes were overly salty. I've heard good things from others, but it was a bit of a let down this time. I would give them another shot and I hope they change my mind.

One of the best dining experiences I've ever had. It's hard to go wrong in Park City on Main Street. The hostesss offered us cozy outdoor seating with blankets next to a fire while we waited for our table (this was in January). The food was excellent, the wine - delicious and the over-all experience, decor and feeling was top-notch. I don't like to give out 5's, but this place deserves it.

We just spent 8 days in Park City and there isn't a better dining experience than Talisker on Main. From the creativity of the menu to the quality of the ingredients to the attention from the servers, this meal was our most memorable. They made us a special gluten free amuse bouche and we split the corn and mint soup for an appetizer. For entrees, my wife's colorado rack of lamb was just brilliant. I ordered the highly recommended shepherd's pie which is really a generous serving of braised beef short ribs. It was incredible. The wine list is more extensive than necessary but everyone does that these days. It wasn't cheap ($170 for two including two glasses of wine each) but worth every penny. Our other nice night out was at Spruce which was good but not memorable by comparison (and service was slow) and a bit more expensive. I highly recommend Talisker.

This was one of the best restaurants i have ever eaten in. Superb food and service. Beautiful ambiance. The wait staff is top rate. I got the chicken with black eyed peas and cornbread. I know. Sounds very simple but it was so delicious and perfectly prepared. I started with corn soup. My date had skate fish and started with a watermelon salad. Eat outside on the patio under the heat lamps.

I've had lunch here several times now and have never been disappointed. This time, we totally splurged and had dinner at the yurt -- easily one of the best dining experiences in my life! There is nothing bad that I can say about it -- the service is top notch, the food is amazing, the decor is cozy, and I love their dinnerware (I want to get their soup bowls and salad plates for my house!) We started the evening with the waiters pouring our BYOB wine while sitting around the fire pits. They served us several different selections of amuse bouche, my faves were the pea soup shooters and UT lamb in wonton shells. Once it started to get dark, we moved into the yurt for dinner. The highlight of the night for me was their incredible butternut squash soup -- OMG, I actually dreamt about it that night! The soup was followed by a delectable beet salad with wilted greens and pancetta, Kobe beef served two ways in a shepherd's pie and as a seared steak. The dessert was a lovely apple cake, but it didn't knock my socks off like the rest of the meal did. I'm sure I left out a course of two in there because the food just kept coming! I was absolutely stuffed when we went back outside to lounge by the fire pits and watch the stars dancing in the sky. It was a memorable evening and an experience not to be missed if you ever have the chance to go!

Just finished my 2nd dinner at Talisker and have made reservations for the 3rd. Fantastic food, lovely ambiance and friendly staff. And they're accommodating to kids. Fried chicken is mind-blowing! Brad in kitchen and Leon on the floor are fantastic.

Absolutely fabulous! Between the four of us, we tried several different dishes including the chef's tasting and were very impressed. The Pork was not quite up to the caliber of the other dishes but still noteworthy. The ambiance is very comfortable and upscale. The wine list is diverse and pairs like a twin. Outstanding!!

I recently went to Talisker on Main for dinner. Its located on the main street in Park city and there is lots of street parking in the area. The restaurant has a homely feel and replicates the inside of a luxurious country club. They also have outdoor seating with a nice cosy outdoor fireplace. My first course was the popular Brussel Sprouts with Bacon, citrus and sherry vinaigrette. it was a nice play on a warm summer salad and the flavors worked wonderfully together. My entree was the Buttermilk Chicken with Black-eye Pea Ragout and Honey Biscuit. What separated this dish from the rest was the biscuit which was in my mind the best I've ever had. For dessert I got a trio of sorbet consisting of Lemon, Mixed Berry, and Raspberry. It was light and refreshing end to the meal. They also have very nice and extensive wine list. I would thoroughly recommend this to foodies and couple looking for a nice romantic getaway.

My husband and I just love Talisker on Main. We have had a second home in Deer Valley for 12 years, and were thrilled when Talisker opened up on Main Street! The courtyard is our favorite place to eat in the summer. They have a beautiful fireplace roaring on a cool evening, plenty of heaters and even blankets to keep you comfortable when the sun goes down in this mountain resort! The food is fabulous, and we have been blown away by the awesome service. It is a MUST try if you visit Park City, summer or winter!

We had the most amazing meal of our lives last night !! It was a rainy night in Park City and I guess it was lucky for us, there were only a hand full of people there. Brian,Briar and the rest of the line put on a show of culinary delights for us. Each dish that came to us was perfection, beyond any meal we have ever had. Thanks to Haven and Jimmy for making us feel so welcome and comfortable . We felt like VIP's instead of the locals that we are. Many thanks to the entire staff for making my Birthday a night I will never forget.

Highly recommended. I was very impressed with the service, enjoyed watching the chefs in the open kitchen, and the food was excellent. Great location right in the heart of Park City. I will definitely return the next time I am in the area.
